Better braking?? posted by PaulZX on February 28, 2006 at 05:05 PM

When I did my first suedo-brake upgrade I learned that if anything a drilled rotor of stock-size will have a greater chance of cracking when under repetitive high stress (autox or track especially), but that wasn't even a common problem on the street. A smaller rotor such as our fronts (relatively speaking of course) losing mass to drilled holes would have a better chance of cracking than a larger one with mass loss to drilling; but even then that doesn't mean that it will happen... just a better chance than slotted or stock surface. Correct me if I'm wrong; but this is what I have learned.
I have slotted / dimpled stock size now and plan to upgrade to the larger 350Z 12.8" rotors in a month or so.
